Description:

This position is Monday through Friday, year round. Shift will be 9:30-6:00 PM or 6am-2:30pm. Approximately 4 hours per shift is spent on cook/kitchen duties. The remainder of the shift will include classroom duties. Benefits include reduced childcare, health insurance and/or paid vacation time. Would consider an applicant to do cook duties only, M-F from 10:00a-2:00p. Cook duties include cooking and serving meals, maintaining required meal records, cleaning, tracking inventory and ordering, and the ability to multi-task. Classroom portion of day will entail working with all age groups.

Applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma and be 18 years of age. While experience is preferred, it is not necessarily required- we are willing to train the right candidate! The "cook only" position would be a great shift/position for someone wanting to work during the school day.

Responsibilities:

​​​​​​Physical Requirements for the cook

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.
  • Ability to stand & walk for 8 hours per day, with intermittent occasional sitting & bending.
  • Ability to bend at the waist and touch toes easily and without pain.
  • Ability to chop, peel, hand mix, cut and stir food items on a continuous or regular basis.

Requirements of the teaching assistant

  • The Assistant teacher helps teacher in preparing and implementing daily activities
  • The Assistant teacher maintains cooperative relationships and clear, positive communication with staff, children, families, and support professionals
  • The Assistant teacher provides personal care to children as needed
  • The Assistant teacher ensures safety of children at all times and across all learning environments.
  • The Assistant teacher maintains health and safety practices in accordance with state and local regulatory guidelines, and helps to keep a clean classroom, and works with the childcare team to maintain a clean environment for children.
  • The Assistant teacher helps to open or close the building and completes tasks and cleaning associated with these shifts.
