The Career Development Center offers test prep sessions to help you prepare for the NYS Certification exams. Each series covers one exam and consists of multiple sessions over several weeks. We offer Test Prep for the following exams: CST Part One: Literacy and English Language Arts, CST Part Two: Mathematics, ATAS, and EAS. Our upcoming Test Prep offerings are below.

Ramon Garcia has twelve years of experience as a mathematics teacher and a professional developer with a particular interest in student-centered pedagogy for adults who struggle with math. As a Senior Learning Specialist with the New York Early Childhood Professional Development Institute, Ramon's workshop series helps candidates pass the New York State Content Specialty Test (Birth - Grade 2) to gain teacher certification. Ramon has also prepared students for the following other standardized exams: GED, CEAFE, CAT-M, SHSAT, TABE, AMATYC, and TASC. Ramon has worked as a professional developer in the innovative nationally recognized CUNY Start program where he provided embedded coaching to teachers of students who arrive at college underprepared in math. Within the CUNY system he has worked at LaGuardia Community College, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Borough of Manhattan Community College where he is currently a math instructor for adults seeking their high school equivalency diplomas. Outside of work; Ramon enjoys bicycling and spending time with his son.
