Assistant Teachers for Preschool

Salary/Wage: $15 - $20 an hour (may increase with experience and education and SIGN ON BONUS)
Job Type: Part-time
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Description:

  • Assist lead teacher to meet and greet families and children
  • Assist lead teacher to provide high quality early childhood education and care to families and children
  • Assist lead teacher to develop lesson plans 
  • Assist lead teacher to create daily activities based on lesson plans that align with child’s interests, abilities and needs in a safe nurturing environment
  • Assist lead teacher to follow a daily schedule
  • Participate in professional development training

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist teacher to present daily learning activities  and materials for children to explore
  • Encourage positive interaction of children
  • Maintain a safe healthy nurturing environment
  • Model and teach positive behaviors and social skills
  • Encourage child's independence and promote cleanliness such as washing hands 
  • Assist teacher to enforce classroom rules and OCFS state regulations.
  • Attend professional development training 

Qualifications:

 

  • Enjoy working with children and adults 
  • Good organization and communication skills
  • OCFS acceptable fingerprinting, background check and health exam
  • Required Highschool Graduate or GED
  • Required At least 18 years old
  • Preferred College credits
  • Preferred CDA Credential
  • Preferred Child Care Experience

 

 

Minimum Education Level: Highschool Graduate or GED
Preferred Education Level: Some College Credits
