We are searching for dedicated teachers for our infant and toddler classrooms. We have 2 full time positions open (1 infant teacher, 1 toddler teacher) starting asap. Friends Academy, an Independent Day School (PS -12th Grade), a 65 acre campus on the North Shore of Long Island is immediately seeking a full-time Head Infant room and Toddler Room Teacher, who will teach in a nurturing educational setting. We are a lovely center on the campus of Friends Academy and have a great staff. Everyone works cooperatively and many of our staff have been employed for years. Our center is open 7:30am to 5:00pm so hours would rarely exceed those times. We follow a school calendar. For our full time employees, there is a benefits package, vacation pay, many paid holidays and a free lunch is provided daily from FA's delicious lunch room.

Responsibilities:

The head teacher will provide for the children's daily needs along with plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities which support the social, emotional, linguistic, and cognitive development of infants or toddlers. The teacher will maintain a positive, safe, clean environment for our littlest friends to learn and play. The teacher will respect the confidential nature of all information about parents, children and staff. The teacher will complete professional development and keep abreast of current milestones and current topics in childcare.  Must be agile to move about the classroom and outdoor facilities, sit on the floor with the children and able to lift 50lbs.  

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or related field and one year of teaching in a childcare program, or Associate's degree in Early Childhood (CDA), or related field and two years of child care experience. Cleared to work by NYSOCFS and Friends Academy pre-employment screening. Interested applicants should submit a resume and at least three professional references for consideration. Our program is licensed by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services and regulations will need to be followed.
