A Lead Teacher is needed for a UPK classroom at this Head Start program. The teacher should have a Bachelors degree and working towards a Masters in Early Childhood. The goal is to have a fully certified teacher, but a study plan teacher is highly recommended and acceptable. An Assistant Teacher is also part of the teaching team. In a classroom of twenty students there will also be an Aide. This Head Start Program has six classrooms with a capacity of 105 children enrolled.
This teacher will be responsible for the total organization and implementation of UPK and Head Start standards, for a group of seventeen or twenty students. The teacher will also be responsible for the yearly assessments and screenings as well as making sure that the classroom routine is followed on a daily basis. The teacher will also be responsible for conducting parent teacher conferences twice a year and home visits which are part of the Head Start Performance Standards guidelines. Lesson Plans and anecdotal's are also part of the teacher's responsibilities. Classroom trips are an integral part of the curriculum planning and implementation.
Fully certified or working towards certification in Early Childhood Education with passes in a few sections of the teachers examination for certification. A Bachelor's Degree and working towards a Masters in Early Childhood Education. The candidate must be registered in a college pursuing the Masters' Program.
