Little Ones is a progressive early childhood development center supporting the growth of to 2-5 year olds and is located in Long Island City, NY. Our philosophy is based on a compilation of thoughts and practices in current early childhood education considered to be a best practices designed to meet the needs of young children and their families.
In the process of helping children grow and achieve their own potential, we acknowledge differences in age and rates of development, as well as learning styles and personality characteristics. Children are encouraged to play in multi-aged groups of children learning how to learn, how to exist in society, and how to be part of a group at each ones unique developmental level, with the opportunity to be both teacher and learner.
Head Teachers must be able to foster a sense of warmth, individuality and support amongst the entire school community.
They will create and implement child centered curriculum, provide a rich learning environment for children to think, problem solve, question and experiment at their own individual pace.
Head Teachers will be able to recognize that each child is an individual and be able to cater to various learning styles and collaborate with other head teachers and assistant teacher to best meet all children’s needs.
