Lead teacher

Description:

Teachers must have a happy disposition to work with young children and for this they must understand child development. Teachers must understand the cognitive, social-emotional, language and physical development of children to plan lessons and hands-on activities that will promote  positive, nurturing and independent young children and classroom. Both teachers and assistants need to work closely together to plan activities and set up classroom. 

Responsibilities:

• Plan and carry out activities based on developmentally appropriate practices.
• Plan differentiation activities to support all learning styles of children.
• Work closely with TA and any other support staff who comes into the classroom.
• Collect anecdotes/dictations of children's work, input it in TS GOLD and use the information to inform planning.
• Have an open communication with families.
• Work closely with other classroom teams.
