We are hiring a qualified Infant/Toddler Teacher who has a passion for instilling values in the youngest of young children. The Infant/Toddler Teacher should lead with positive high energy and possess the ability to handle the unique demands of babies and toddlers with different personalities and needs.

To ensure success, we are hiring an Infant/Toddler teacher who displays a gentle and nurturing personality while maintaining the patience to assist each infant or toddler to mature cognitively, and to develop gross motor & fine motor skills. The teacher should be able to assist in developing the infants’ and toddlers’ social skills as they interact with each other.

Responsibilities:

Infant/Toddler Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the health and safety of the group at all times.
    • Guiding babies and toddlers through education/development programs.
  • Meets the physical and emotional needs of each child.
  • Arrange the learning environment in a manner that promotes safety and learning in a cheerful environment.
    • Thinking on their feet and responding to each child’s needs efficiently.
    • Displaying a patient and calm personality coupled with a loving approach to every child.
    • Contributing positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children.
    • Building secure relationships with both the children and families.
    • Working closely with the department head to ensure that agency guidelines are adhered to.
    • Documenting the day’s events for parents. Work with teaching team to collect appropriate anecdotal notes and assess the progress of each child in the group.
  • Ability to supervise assistants, gives instructions and delegates duties in a professional manner.
    • Reporting accidents, illness, and unusual behavior of children to the head of the department, and parents.
    • Ensuring close communication with parents throughout the day should the need arise.
  • Respect confidentiality of each child and his/her family.
  • Treat children, parents and staff members with dignity and respect
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Infant/Toddler Teacher Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education preferred.
    • Associate degree (AA or AS) in early childhood education or Child Development Associate (CDA) certification with a study plan leading to an associate’s degree in early childhood education within 7 years
    • High school diploma or GED: nine college credits in early childhood; two years’ experience caring for children and a study plan leading to an associate’s degree in early childhood within 7 years
    • Must be 21 years of age or older.
    • CPR and RTE certified and trained.
  • Knowledge and experience working with infants and toddlers and of the basics of child development.
    • Complete background check including fingerprinting and health examination.
    • A passion for working with babies and toddlers.
    • Patient, nurturing and thoughtful personality.
  • Ability to move and react quickly to handle emergencies effectively
  • Skills in time management and organization.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Maintain discretion around children’s records.
  • Must be able to bend to a child’s level and lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
