Teacher Assistant

Description:

Early Childhood Development Center Kaleidoscope is hiring a preschool teacher assistant for their preschool at 843 Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. This is a full time/full year position Monday - Friday 7:45 am – 4:15 pm. The compensation is 16.5/hour.

Responsibilities:

Assist the classroom teacher in conducting an effective child development program to meet the health, physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of each child, including:

• Conducting activities designed to promote children’s physical, mental and social development.

• Be a nurturing, hardworking, responsible, and a creative individual.

• Be fully engaged, passionate about their work, and realize that every child matters.

• Ensure that child care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with the good child development principles. This includes routines related to diapering, hand washing, eating, napping,changing soiled or wet clothes, and transitioning between activities.

• Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, and proper maintenance of equipment.

• Use equipment and supplies safely and conscientiously, keeping the physical environment clean and orderly.
