UPK Teacher

Description:

These duties & responsibilities include - 

• Create a safe and supportive learning environment to support the social emotional well-being of a child with routines and structures that align to the school’s core value and honor family and community cultures. 
• Providing a safe and secure environment where children feel comfortable. 
• Integrating special needs children in a positive and respectful manner. 
• Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development such as games, arts & crafts, music, storytelling.  Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development and physical health. 
• Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health related problems. Discuss with supervisor, parents & guardians. 
• Meet with parents and guardians to discuss children's progress and needs. Have an open form of communication. Suggest ways they can promote learning and developmental needs. 
• Prepare material and classrooms with the assistant teacher. 
• Plan with the assistant teacher: lessons, class needs and what is best for your classroom community. 
• Ensure the classroom and all equipment is clean, well-maintained and safe. 
• Ensuring the constant supervision of all children
• Submit lesson plans on a weekly basis to the educational director. 
• Demonstrate and express compassions, consistency, fairness, cultural awareness and sensitivity, flexibility and respectfulness. 
• Effective verbal and communication skills to parents, assistant teachers and students. 
• Maintain confidentiality of all students.
• Being on time and ready for work. 
• Express concerts, and effective communication with your assistant teacher for a great positive work environment
