The Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO) has an opening for a full-time Center Assistant at our Lansingburgh Family Resource Center.  

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:  The Center Assistant will work effectively with the center leadership team and perform a broad variety of tasks, such as; coordinate coverage with managers, communicate with substitute teachers, assist with recruitment and enrollment of children.  Maintain accurate inventory of building supplies and order as needed.  Along with general administrative duties, database maintenance and support to Center Managers.  Other responsibilities may include classroom coverage in a Head Start childcare center.   

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus experience as an administrative assistant required
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office programs required 
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • A clean and valid NYS driver’s license 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to think critically and adapt to a dynamic changing environment

Preferred:  

  • Associates Degree in Human Services or Business
  • 1+ years previous experience in an office setting
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and OCFS regulations preferred
