YWCA Northeastern NY is seeking an Early Learning Teacher to join our Early Learning Center team for a full-time position. We are seeking a candidate to work at our Washington Avenue and Schenectady County Community College locations. Both centers are open from 7am to 530pm. Flexible hours are available.

Job Summary/Function:

The function of the Early Learning Teacher is to foster a developmentally appropriate, nurturing and safe environment for our young children six weeks to five years old.

Essentials Duties:

Complete assessments and reports for each child
Complete assigned classroom paperwork
Conduct parent conferences at minimum twice a year
Consult with Director/Assistant Director when concerns arise
Implement child abuse and maltreatment mandates
Monitor educational supplies and equipment needs
Prepare and execute weekly lesson plans
Supervise children, assist with training new staff
When extra services are needed for a child or family, provide family with information or where to find information
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

CDA or Associates degree in Early Education, BS/BA in Early Education /Elementary Education preferred
Minimum three years of experience in a licensed childcare program

Physical requirements:

Must be able to sit on the floor
Lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to go for walks, use stairs and playgrounds
Noise level can be loud at times
Must be able to physically work with children
Must be able to chase after young children
