GREETINGS FROM PDI

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the Fall issue! In this issue, we invite you to consider your work as a career. When you decided that you wanted to work with young children, you made a commitment to excellence-children deserve no less than the best. And in order to do that best, you need to think about your work. How am I doing? Is this the right role for me? Am I able to make a difference for the children I work with? Are there other ways I can make a contribution to the education and welfare of children? What are the talents and strengths I bring to the work? How can I best influence early learning? Considering careers in the field of early childhood care and education-early learning-is what this issue is about, because wherever there are children, there must be excellence. How are you doing?

Althea Barnes, the Project Coordinator for PDI's Informal Family Child Care Project, has left CUNY to go back to school to become a school psychologist and to pursue her passion for the arts. We acknowledge her contribution to the early childhood field and wish her well in her new and exciting endeavors.

Sincerely,

Sherry M. Cleary
Executive Director
