Job Summary: The Educational/Disabilities Coordinator works in conjunction with the Educational Director to use reflective supervision to support staff in their interactions with children and families. By utilizing best practices and through comprehensive support, the Coordinator supports staff in their efforts to provide an education-rich and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  • Works in conjunction with program director to use reflective supervision to support staff in their interactions with children and families
  • Conducts classroom observations of teachers; mentors, coaches, and evaluates teacher performances.
  • Accompanies home visitors on visits conducting observations of interactions between families and the home visitor
  • Ensures Program Goals and School Readiness Goals are being implemented
  • Uses Teaching Strategies Gold to monitor child development observations
  • Reviews all child case records and lesson plans; ensures that lesson plans reflect goals as defined within each child’s individual developmental profiles
  • Conducts workshops and training for staff based on evaluations and assessments in accordance with the EHS Performance Standard; designs and delivers training in areas of expertise
  • Ensures that children in need of special education services are screened, referred, evaluated and able to access services in a timely manner in compliance with State and Federal Law
  • Attend IFSP meetings and assist families as needed; ensures that parents are well aware of their parental rights, and that information is shared in parent’s dominant language
  • Monitor disability services in the classrooms and ensure that teaching staff and service providers are working in concert to make sure that IFSP goals are being implemented in the child’s daily routine
  • Establishes and maintains relationships and collaborations with public school districts, systems of higher education, and other community agencies and partners
  • Provides assistance to the Early Learn Education Director with tasks assigned to 3-5 year old classroom staff
  • Provides regular written communication in the form of reports, memos and contact notes to ensure that the director, family services coordinator, and other consultant staff are well informed of each child’s status/progress
  • Performs other duties as delegated

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or equivalent coursework in early childhood education required
  • Professional leadership/management and supervisory experience; preferably in an educational non-profit
  • Infant/Toddler CDA is required to be obtained if no infant/toddler specialization
  • Previous teaching experience with early education required
  • Bilingual preferred
