Summer Camp season is quickly approaching and we are currently accepting applications for Day Camp Activity Specialist to work at Summer Camp. Our camps are seeking the “best of the best” candidates to ensure that our campers have the best summer of their lives.

Y Day Camp

There is an energy and magic to summer camp that cannot be replicated. Throughout the gyms, classrooms, playgrounds, campgrounds, buses and trains, campers can be heard laughing, singing, playing and learning. Y Camps provide an exciting camp experience in a safe and accepting environment and enhance campers’ self-confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a Day Camp Activity Specialist

The Day Camp Activity Specialist is responsible for planning and executing recreational or arts activities and providing overall supervision to campers.  Specifically, the Day Camp Activity Specialist will prepare and provide age-appropriate fine or performing arts, sports, or STEM instruction for participants in Summer Day Camp, promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the diversity of all staff and participants, and a positive camp spirit.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college credits and formal education in specialty preferred.
  • At least two years of experience working with youth, specifically in the area of specialty.
  • Formal certification in area of specialty required.

 

Key dates

The summer day camp season begins July 1st and ends on August 23rd. You must also attend, and successfully complete, 40 hours of pre-camp training.
