Responsibilities:

The Weekday School, a progressive, play-based, non-denominational early childhood school located in New York City’s landmark Riverside Church, seeks an innovative, creative and highly energetic Head of School to lead this historic, one-of-a-kind program toward its second century. This individual will:

Supervise all school personnel, including cultivating and nurturing faculty and staff
Oversee all of the programs and facilities related to the school, including driving overall enrollment and exploring additional programming opportunities
Lead all external communications, including marketing and PR efforts
Support families in selecting ongoing schools and maintain successful relationships with ongoing schools
Identify, develop, and maintain all fundraising initiatives
Support active parent community and maintain productive relations with the church

We are seeking a dynamic, insightful, entrepreneurial and energetic self-starter to lead our diverse school community. This is a unique opportunity for an innovative and visionary leader in an entrepreneurial setting to continue the Weekday School’s legacy as a pioneer in early childhood education. We are also looking to meet individuals with significant leadership experience in the educational or non-profit worlds who have demonstrated commitment to working with children and families and who have strong backgrounds in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in school administration and supervisory experience in a pre-school setting

Preferred

Proven results in strategic planning, collaboration, marketing and fundraising within a large non-profit organization
Five to ten years' experience in school administration and supervisory experience in a pre-school setting
Experience in the school exmissions process in the New York City area
Knowledge and experience with early childhood curriculum development
Valid New York State teaching certification (Birth-Grade 2)
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
