Description:

We are a large early childhood education program with multiple locations throughout Brooklyn. Our Head Start and daycare programs are currently delivered through NYC’s EarlyLearn and Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program. Through our 8 sites we serve over 650 students and families. We are currently hiring energetic, enthusiastic, dynamic teachers to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Plan and implement lesson plans and field trips in accordance with The Creative Curriculum
Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
Create a fun and safe learning environment
Supervise and work collaboratively with the teaching team
Conduct appropriate assessments and maintain portfolios/observations on all students
Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
Encourage and support parent involvement

Qualifications:

• BA in Early Childhood Education or related field
• NY State Teaching Certificate: Birth-2nd Grade (if eligible, possibility for placement on Study Plan to obtain NY Certification)
• At least 1 year of classroom experience
• Experience working with children with IEPs and ELL a plus!
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to build rapport with children
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
