Bank Street Education Center (“the Center”) partners with school systems (districts, state education departments) to improve instruction at scale. The Center does this by providing services including strategic planning and professional learning. This role will provide project management and data analysis to support a range of projects including the New York City Department of Education to achieve its ambitious, complex and important goals of the 0 to 3 expansion.

Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the 0-3/Early Childhood project team, the Center’s leadership team and staff, the Implementation Associate, 0-3 will be responsible for the following activities:
● Analytics

○ Design and execute evaluation and reporting plans for Ed Center projects in collaboration with Project Staff and Leadership:

■ Collaborate with project staff to identify project metrics according to goals outlined in learning goals in curriculum and professional learning content.

■ In collaboration with key stakeholders, create data collection tools that capture data aligned to these metrics (e.g. surveys, observation tools, interviews).

■ Build and maintain data management structures for long-term qualitative and quantitative data collection.

■ Create and maintain reference documents explaining data and methods.

■ Capture data to track and report key performance indicators identified by leadership appropriate to be shared with internal and external audiences.

■ Liaise with partner organization/district to ensure the timely delivery of data.

■ Generate reports visualizing and communicating project outcomes, as outlined in contracts and as needed for funders and the leadership team. These include, but are not limited to, mid-year and final reports for various projects, board of directors updates and materials for new and existing funders.

■ Facilitate regular step-backs with project staff to collect project updates, collect key content generated from each engagement and to review data and interpret results to prepare for internal check-ins with partner organizations/districts in which data will be shared and discussed

● Deliverable Creation

o Support the Associate Director, 0-3 in professional learning content creation.

■ Co-develop and format learning objectives and session outlines

■ Co-develop and format compelling PowerPoint presentations.
■ Co-develop and format supporting session materials.

● Logistics & Operations

o Provide logistical support needed to create successful professional events

■ Arrange events, including outreach to participants, drafting communications to attendees, ensuring that all details for the event are prepared in advance and managed on the day-of.

■ Be present during professional learning sessions to offer operational support.

● Project Management

o Create and monitor project plans with milestones, deliverables, owners and timelines for each event/product; track progress, summarize decisions, and escalate as needed;

o Manage regular meetings with stakeholders, including scheduling, preparation of agendas, taking and sharing out notes, and preparing necessary materials and following up from each meeting as needed;

o Support the hiring process of necessary staff, contacting potential recruits, compiling research on particular candidates and coordinating meetings with hiring committees;

o Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

● Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to perform independently

● Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel

● Excellent PowerPoint skills and the ability to present information, including data, in multiple formats

● Proficiency with quantitative and qualitative analysis software (e.g. STATA, R, NVivo, Qualtrics)

● Attention to detail and ability to identify issues and inconsistencies in data

● Demonstrated ability to design and manage complex and multiple projects

● Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with experienced educators and district teams

● Strong communication skills (public speaking, email, fact sheet and report writing)

● Ability to work effectively with others at varying levels of an organization and to consistently display a high level of professionalism in all interactions

● Demonstrated ability to design systems or processes to solve a problem

● Strong critical thinking and project management skills

● Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.

● Ability to work effectively with data of varying levels of quality and validity.

● Process oriented, with an eye towards increasing efficiencies through improved processes and automation.

● Flexibility in response to program needs
● Ability to navigate an ambiguous, fast-paced environment of quickly changing priorities and tight deadlines.

● Excellent writing and communications skills.

● Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a group.

● Experience with data management & analytics

● Attention to detail and ability to identify issues and inconsistencies in data.

Required Qualifications:
● At least 3 years of work in education, early childhood preferred

● Proficiency in other Microsoft Office software applications (e.g. Access, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
● M.A. degree in education or related field
