Description:
The Preschool Coordinator is a full-time position reporting directly to the Executive Director, he/she will be responsible for the delivery of SWAN preschool educational program including classroom coordination, teachers management, curriculum implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Executive Director to ensure preschool programs and goals are implemented to support SWAN’s mission and objectives
- Work alongside the Educational Director in curriculum development and design of curriculum materials
- Responsible for preschool day-to-day operation function
- Provide supervision, evaluation, support and instructional guidance to preschool teachers and teacher assistants
- Ensure students’ academic, social, emotional and physical needs are met
- Manage and execute education programs within budget parameters
- Responsible for preschool communication to parents
- Prepare and submit required reports and maintains accurate programming records
- Participate in Quality Improvement Project
- Conduct or participate in workshops, committees, and conferences designed to promote intellectual, social and physical welfare of students
- Performed other duties as assigned by Executive Director
Qualifications:
- A bachelor degree in Education, Early Childhood Education and/or Child Psychology
- Two or more years’ of teaching experience in preschool or elementary school setting
- Current Valid Certification issued by the State Education Department pursuant to 8 NYCRR required
- Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students and teachers
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment to education
- English/Chinese bilingual skills and bicultural capabilities
