OVERVIEW:  

The 100 Schools project is a city-wide, multi-stakeholder initiative which aims to prevent and reduce risky substance use, mental health conditions, and inappropriate use of emergency departments by expanding the skills of middle and high school based staff located in schools across NYC.  The Clinical Director is responsible for working with the 100 schools and 4 Community Based Providers to assure that each school has a plan for requested programs and services, that each coach is working well within the school community, and that the toolkit is being created for each school.  In addition, the position will work with NYAM’s Evaluation and Research Division in implementing all quality improvement and outcomes evaluation systems to support the Project. In Year 1, in coordination with Governance Committee Members, the Senior Director, and other allocated Jewish Board staff, this staff member will support the development of metrics, outcomes tools, data collection mechanisms, and stakeholder surveys, and will implement a sensitive and sophisticated program evaluation and outcomes system during Years 2-5

Responsibilities:

  • Meet at least annually with each of the 100 schools in the project to ascertain that there is a clearly defined plan, that services and trainings are being provided to each school, and that a toolkit designed to the individual needs of each school is being created by the Behavioral Health Team in collaboration with Jewish Board
  • Meet at least monthly with each of the 4 Community Behavioral Health Teams to discuss project goals and address engagement or other school related issues.
  • Work with NYAM to support the development of metrics, outcomes tools, data collection mechanisms, and stakeholder surveys to measure program impact, assess data needs and resources in schools and Behavioral Health Agencies (BHA)
  • Manage project’s performance measurement and improvement practices through use of tools that measure service delivery quality and outcomes.
  • Support performance and quality improvement projects, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop processes to address needed corrective actions
  • Engage BHAs in data collection and quality improvement activities
  • Facilitate conversations around data and interpretation of findings
  • Research most current practices and publications around measurement, best practices, and new methodologies; attentive to developments in the external environment for interpretation and integration into program practice. 
  • Assist with meeting, trainings, and conferences for project stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Social Work or related field (i.e. Public Administration) with child and/or clinical experience.  Work experience in schools strongly preferred.
  • License preferred (if appropriate to profession)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience required
  • Familiarity with the behavioral health and/or education service systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, ability to engage staff at all levels of the agency; collaborative team player
  • Organized with an ability to work independently to complete projects
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent writing and presentation; listening and problem solving skills
  • Local travel required
